Monetary Donations

Support our chapter

Work in the Global Brigades communities does not end with university brigades. GB is committed to programming in these communities year-round with in-country staff and long-term programming. These initiatives are vital to the sustainable transition plan and ensure holistic, sustainable community development. The $1,500 annual chapter contribution raised by each university chapter provides funding for chapter specific programs. See below for more on how to donate to our chapter and where these donations go.

Medical: The medical chapter donations go towards the Sustainable Health Fund. This fund finances year-round healthcare in partner communities, including health worker training, patient referrals, and program management.

Support a Brigader

Each brigader is responsible for raising the funds to finance their brigade. This cost consists of the individual program contribution and the cost of airfare. Each individual program contribution helps to fund everything needed for the medical brigade: medicine, equipment, local doctors, local dentists, pharmacists, translators, support staff, ground transportation, food, lodging, public health construction supplies, and emergency medical insurance. Because Global Brigades is a non-profit organization, these contributions help keep the cost of brigades manageable.

• To make a donation on behalf of a brigader, please select “make a donation on behalf of a fundraiser” and choose your brigader from the drop-down box.
• All donations make toward the general fund will be split evenly among volunteers
• You will receive a confirmation email after your donation is received

In-Kind Donations

Hygiene Kits

During the medical clinic, each patient will receive a hygiene kit and any prescribed medication upon completion of the educational health session. Global Medical Brigades is collecting the following items to include in our hygiene kits.

• Toothbrushes (pediatric and adult)
• Toothpaste (travel size)
• Soap
• Floss
• Shampoo (travel size)
• Combs

Global Brigades at WKU is always looking for new and exciting fundraising opportunities.
